What to know about this type of sign
Stopping and parking are two different things under the Belgian highway code, and the theory test loves to play on the difference. Where can you stop briefly, where can you park, and how do you use a parking disc in a blue zone? Here are all the rules, with the distances you need to know.
- Stopping means loading Stopping is holding the vehicle still for as long as it takes to pick up or drop off people or goods. Anything longer is parking.
- 5 metres before a crossing Stopping and parking are forbidden on a pedestrian crossing and within 5 metres before it.
- Blue zone: 2 hours Unless stated otherwise, you may park for 2 hours in a blue zone, with a parking disc behind the windscreen.
